Condition Addressed
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is performed to address both cosmetic and functional concerns
related to the upper and lower eyelids.
This procedure is commonly sought by individuals experiencing excess skin on the upper or lower eyelids
(dermatochalasis), drooping eyelids (ptosis), under-eye bags, puffiness, or sagging that can make the eyes appear
tired, aged, or obstruct vision.
Blepharoplasty can also correct conditions such as entropion (inward-turning eyelid), ectropion (outward-turning
eyelid), and remove benign growths or xanthelasma (cholesterol deposits) around the eyes.
Functionally, the surgery can significantly improve peripheral vision when excess skin encroaches on the visual field,
and it may relieve symptoms like eye irritation, tearing, or difficulty wearing glasses due to eyelid abnormalities.
