Condition Addressed
A facelift, medically known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure designed to address the visible signs of aging in the face and neck. Over time, factors such as gravity, sun exposure, stress, genetics, and the natural loss of skin elasticity contribute to sagging skin, deep creases, jowls along the jawline, and loose skin or excess fat in the neck. These changes can make the face appear older, tired, or less defined. A facelift specifically targets these concerns by tightening and repositioning the underlying facial tissues, removing excess skin, and restoring a firmer, smoother, and more youthful contour to the lower face and neck. While the procedure is highly effective for correcting sagging cheeks, deep lines running from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial folds), jowls, and loose neck skin, it does not address issues such as sagging eyebrows, eyelid bags, or fine lines around the mouth, which may require additional or alternative treatments.
