Downtime
Downtime for both lip lift and lip reduction is generally short, but some recovery is necessary.
After a surgical lip lift, patients typically experience mild swelling, bruising, and tightness around the upper lip and
nose, most noticeable in the first three to five days and gradually subsiding within one to two weeks. Stitches are
usually removed or dissolve within a week, and most people can return to light daily activities within a few days,
resuming usual routines in about a week. Heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, or excessive facial movements should be
avoided for at least one to two weeks to ensure proper healing. For lip reduction, initial downtime is usually a few
days, with swelling and discomfort diminishing over the following weeks. Both procedures may result in temporary
numbness or sensitivity, which resolves as healing progresses.
